Accidentally brushed past a lamp and it fell and broke. Despite being very apologetic about it and even offered to pay for the damages the manager/owner was incredibly rude about it. Told my friend and i to leave and never come back. From the other reviews it seems he’s rude to his employees as well. Regularly go there for drinks after work and organised functions there but never again. Pizza is horrible and overpriced. Go to cargo for pizza twice the standard.
I was in Hobart with a friend on a holiday. Passed by multiple places and we decided on this place. We came on a Saturday night and it has a classy but relaxed chilled vibe to it with live music and craft beer. The place is kept well and waiter staff are attentive and friendly. It is a little to the pricey side but you get other things like service, ambience and live music. We bought all the bar snacks and two of the pieces of food. The potato skins was really nice and unique. Not oily and the sauce you can tell was prepared and not from a packaged source. The crispy pork belly wss crispy but the meat was a little dry. The sauce that came with it was good. The fish bites were one of the best I have tasted. You didn’t need heaps of tartar BC the fish quality and batter was nice and light. The salmon paddle pop sounds appealing but it was dry and you can’t taste the salmon to it. Was ok but more so for novelty. The chicken croquets were very nice and light and airy. Good taste to them and sauce was good. Fish cakes were ok but I have never been a fan of them. The sauce that came with it was great. Lastly the male bathrooms have a two way mirror so I was able to see into the adjoining function room but I am assuming they could not see me. I have never seen this ever. Was a cool twist to it. I would recommend to visitors in a heart beat.
This place has a really nice open and classy atmosphere. Everything about it is neat and purposeful. I love craft beer, and this place has a large selection on tap. They do lunchtime pizza for ten bucks, and they’re really good. Really nice flavoured base, and interesting ingredients (I recommend the pumpkin, honey and sage). Nice and warm inside with a fireplace, and the staff are really friendly and not overbearing.
Absolutely delicious.Dinner on my second night in Hobart and this place was such a warm haven from the cold night, i got the crunchy beetroot salmon paddlepop, cheesy chicken croquettes and some fries- everything was delicious. The Salmon was tasty, tender, the croquettes were huge and so cheesy, fries serving was very generous. Great selection of Tassie beers on tap and paddles too. The young woman serving at the bar had great beer knowledge. If i lived in Hobart id visit Watermans most weekends.
Was raining at the market so was looking for a venue. Owner opened early to let us in. Was very helpful recommending beers and we had a good time drinking until the sun came out.
Fabulous! Great staff and a pretty good beer selection. Prices are very reasonable, and the offer of samples were much appreciated. I’ll be back!
