Unimpressed. While visiting my home state with friends and family, we stopped for a food break at Pork’s. No problem with the food but the person who served us was incredibly rude. My husband ordered some hot food and drinks for the kids. He was not asked to identify if he wanted ‘eat in or take away’ but the staff person made it very clear when she handed him the final bag of chips that we were not welcome to eat indoors as the food was ‘take away’. Might understand this if there were other customers waiting for seats but there was no one else there – we would have even been happy to pay extra to ‘eat in’ if we had been treated with something bordering on respect. My brother in law and sister were so unimpressed they decided not to order at all and preferred to leave the small township still hungry. Very disappointed in this poor service in my beloved Tasmania. I don’t think our beautiful state can afford for any tourist to receive bad service. On the other hand, the lovely clothes shop nearby, ‘Coastal’ gave us friendly and hospitable service and we will definitely go back there.
An above average version of the seaside takeaway joint. Excellent chips, sweet blue grenadier in just the right amount of batter and a generously endowed seafood pizza. perfect to eat in the park overlooking bicheno bay.
