Fish & chips made to order and battered so nicely: thin and crispy without compromising the texture of the fish. I think the chips were house battered too. It’s a lovely spot looking towards the pier and Governor Island.

We ordered a fish box to share. The fish (we chose whiting) was we cooked and the chips were excellent. Nice place to eat and relax with a nice view of the jetty. Food was good but pricy for fish and chips.

Delicious fish and chips!Affordable and good quantity! Perfect for a break when driving along the east coast! An area behind to sit and relax while waiting for our food to be ready!Would definitely come again:)

We stopped off here on our way from Launceston to Coles Bay. Glad we arrived when we did as the line to order was well out the door as we left. The food was wonderful. We ordered a fish box for 1 plus an extra prawn and calamari and this was enough to share for 2. The fish was cooked to perfection as were the chips – cooked through with a nice golden colour. Some of the best fish and chips we have ever had. It is a bit pricey but Tasmanian seafood is well worth it. Also the wait was about 20min from ordering.

Great fish n chips live here. The serves are generous so don’t be put off by price. Order a little less. We had calamari and kids fish bites pack with chips for $10. It fed 2 of us comfortably for lunch.

The best fish and chips I have ever had! I feel like I travelled back in time to the origins of fish and chips. That is, before cold storage, before refrigerated transport, and before fish and chips shops operated 500km inland. The shop was simple, rustic, and unpretentious. The fish we ate had been caught minutes earlier and the guy that took our order also caught the fish. I usually find deep fried fish to be very greasy but the batter that the fish was bathed in was light and flakey.

It’s been not very good food since we came to Tassy. First we went to Richmond and I had a scallop pie for $7.90 and that was nothing to write home about, then went to Mako restaurant by the Hobart dock and had a really bad fisherman’s basket with terribly dry and chewy fish. I am sick of fried seafood too, but a lot of restaurant serve them this way, unfortunately. Anyhow, back to this fish n chips. They were good!!! I thought they were a bit expensive, but not really. I had a grilled blue throat fish(never had it before) and chips $10 and my partner had a grilled salmon fillet and greek salad for $21. We had to wait for a good while, but their serve was really good as well. The blue throat was big and the salmon came in 2 fillets!!!! (or a cutlet split into 2) and their chips were nice and crisp! The fish were nicely cooked and not dry. We had them take away and ate by the blowhole. Great afternoon we had!!
