Played the Dunes Corse today – great course and very difficult once the wind started blowing hard off Bass Straight in the afternoon.Unfortunately that’s where it ends. – overpriced especially when the service and facilities are not up to the standard of some public golf courses. No lockers in the Men’s Locker room, no towels, shampoo or other toiletry items commonly found in many mainland and overseas courses, Arrogant and unfriendly service from the staff especially when we entered the bar / lounge area to order a coffee before starting my round. My intention was to play Lost Farm tomorrow but this will not happen
This review is for Barnbougle Lost Farm Lodge Restaurant.Breathtaking view – I can’t stop gushing about the panoramic view this restaurant offers. It is worthwhile visiting just for the view with a glass of wine of two.We had dinner tonight & the meal was good. I had eye fillet steak ($44) with side of broccolini ($7). I requested mid-rare & it was perfect. Hubby had duck & it was juicy & fall off the bone. Entree was scallops in strawberry chilli ($22), sauce was lovely but scallops overcooked.Best ever chocolate fondant! I highly recommend this, it was googy when I cut into & balanced well with ice ream and apple. The wine list is fabulous, showcasing Tamar valley’s vineyards. It is easy to sit there taking in the rugged scenery while enjoying the wine.I wasn’t completely blown away with the food (apart from the chocolate fondont) based on the price tag (as it is on the highside). I would rate the food 3.5, however the view makes it a worthwhile treat to a score of 4.Service was excellent.
