Good fresh oysters. We ordered some oysters with a onion and vinaigrette dressing which was nice but overpowered the taste of the ocean that you should get from a great oyster. Blue eye and salmon for mains were underwhelming and definitely not value for money. They werent bad, but not worth the $38 (two small battered blue eye fillets, a bog standard if not a little greasy chunky chips and a poorly dressed pile of rocket) or $27 (plain old chuck of salmon, steamed broccoli – they best bits, and a few fondant potatoes). Staff were friendly and cheerful but felt as like they were trying to compensate for customers feeling ripped off by the average food. Would not go back.

Last meal in Hobart for us. This joint have its own oyster farm and you can book a tour that runs once a day. We came late and didn’t get the chance to go with the tour. Ordered the mixed platter which comes with 6 varieties of oyster style which includes: natural, red pepper, red wine vinaigrette, kilpatrick, Mornay, and arrabiata. In general it was okay and not as fresh as we would’ve thought

Saturday lunch. No booking but promptly and politely shown to table by window with magnificent outlook over the water.Short but thoughtful wine list showcasing some of Tasmania’s great wines. All very affordable.Started with oysters which were excellent. Sword fish and the Whitebait for mains. Beautifully prepared and served.Friendly and courteous staff.

Located close to the airport, it’s perfect for a quick meal prior to your flight. Oysters are cheaper downstairs in the cafe if you want it natural, upstairs restaurant provides options of dressing/cooking.
