  Final dinner with some sheep before the missus and I head off on holidays ( I say sheep, because we were continually referred to as youse) Dinner at Nates didn’t start well, waited for three young ladies to finish some mundane till work before our presence was acknowledged then only to be told our table was table seven and it’s the one over there ! To finish the trifecta, why not wait to be given drink service? Still it could only improve from here? Alas no! Our order got lost somewhere on the way to the kitchen and despite our patience we felt the need to ask if there was a chance our meal would be arriving any time soon? Steaks were the choice for the majority of the table and although the missus was happy with hers ( probably out of desperation ) mine wasn’t anything special Nates is probably fine for the park guests ( albeit a little pricey )but I wouldn’t recommend it for a destination dinner venue Unlikely to return

  Well what a very pleasant surprise .We stayed the night at the caravan park & decided to try Nates restaurant which is on the same site. We both had eye fillet cooked to perfection. The pepper Jus was superb & the steamed winter veggies had flavour that leapt out onto my tastebuds. This was a meal that I didn’t want to end. Washed down with a very nice local Tasmanian wine a most enjoyable evening. If your heading doe to Hobart to take in MONA or the scenery make sure you try this restaurant ,you won’t be disappointed . I will be back to sample the many other dishes available. Ohh & by the way it’s not expensive either.Mike
