Very reasonably priced and its definitely bistro style. The setting is beautiful but it was quite empty for a Sunday afternoon but the adjacent Frogmore estate was booked out. They have a small menu and a wine list of estate wines. I didnt try the escargot as I dont really like them. The baked Brie was nice but the bread was a bit cool. The charcuterie plate was good, particularly the terrine; the prosciutto and salami was good but not outstanding. I had the salmon; it was well cooked but not particularly French in style. We tried a 2016 and a 2014 estate pinot noir. We found the service to be friendly but perhaps a little inattentive. For example, it took quite a while to get someones attention after they bought the second bottle of wine; the 2016 came instead of the 2014. It was offered to us at half price but we insisted on the 2014 and what a choice; it’s significantly better and fuller bodied and flavoured. We ordered a second glass for the white drinker but it never came.I guess it’s not exactly in the classic French style I’ve come to expect. However, it’s a nice setting and good value at $65 per head inclusive of 2 bottles of wine.
