Beautiful views as well as dishes, if you’re coming to or fro Port Arthur make sure you drive by Bangor for an oyster platter or two. Very fresh and nicely prepared, without that fishy taste that some oysters have, the ones served here are an absolute delight. The rest of the menu is also not bad at all, but when ordering sourdough we were expecting a bit more than a four thinly sliced pieces. Overall a good experience and probably will return if in the area.
You have to get the oyster platter really fresh and no fishy smell or taste. The mussles pretty good too, the smoked salmon burger is not so… so do not pick that unless u really like salmon burger
If you want a stunning view, fresh oysters and great wine, this is the place for you!An awesome view while you savor your wine and slurping onto those fresh raw oysters. That was exactly what we did when we were there and we totally enjoyed our time there. The service was great and prompt. Overall a great experience indeed.
What a find. Oysters delicious and such great value, both natural and with the line chilli sauce were great. Wine was really good, and such a great cheese platter.
Beach view is amazing. Smoke salmon tastes delicious and not too strong, grilled oysters are great and special, lam pie tastes average, service is comfortable and no one is pushing you to order as soon as possible. All in all, I’d come again!
Saw this place on the Tourism Tasmania advert while sitting on a train station in Brisbane and knew I had to check it out when we were in Tasmania. They more than lived up to my expectations. Not only is it a spectacular location you can add to that friendly staff who know their products, great wine & the freshest most delicious oysters I have ever had. They are my new benchmark for Oysters!
The views are amazing!!!!!But sadly the food didn’t quite match the fantastic views. We ordered the seafood platter to share. Oysters, hot smoked salmon, cold smoked salmon, abalone, mussels, scallops and sourdough bread.Oysters were good, but were tiny and would have expected much much better quality direct from an oyster farm. The cold smoked salmon was the best part of the meal.Everything else was just good – but nothing bad at all either.Great halfway point to stop between Hobart and Port Arthur for food (as we didn’t really see any other options anyway)
