What a great find! Very casual fish and chippery. We grabbed a fish basket for 2 ($20) which had calamari, fish and chips – super fresh and super delicious! From what I could tell, this is all they offer (in different sizes) but they do it well. BYO drinks, sit out in the sun and fill up on a local tassie catch.
I live in Melbourne and my friends and I travelled down just to try this famous fish and chips. It was by FAR the BEST fish and chips we have ever eaten! It is all caught fresh that morning and cooked the old fashioned way. It was three years ago that I first had this, going back next month and I will head there the very next day of landing to get Dunalley again. The most deliciously fresh whiting, the most tender calamari and the chis were crispy and real! see you next month!
By far the best fish and chips around, and for just $15, the serving was so generous. Calamari is the standout, so fresh! There are also walls of fun photos of fish they’ve caught and boats…and a cute dog running afoot. Nice tables by the water to sit at to eat!
Orders are taken from 1130am This is great value for money,portions are as described..seafood basket for 3 =$20 will sufficiently feed 3.Not the usual thick batter you find in most fish n chips stores. They used fine breadcrumbs which absorbs less oil. Loved the soft squid which was so fresh that it kinda squeaks as one chews on it. White fish, calamari,crispy chips. A good feed to last the day. Great work folks!
Valued for money fish and chips. $15 for 2 pax. We managed to get there from Port Arthur before it closes at 5pm. The calamari was yummy and the fish was juicy. Worth a visit if you are visiting Port Arthur.
I can’t rate this place hightly enough – freshest fish, large servings and fabulous people. A fishermans basket for two is just awesome value and very very tasty.
Lovely and super fresh- had the seafood basket for two. Great to get a mix of fish, the flake was superb as was the calamari and octopus. No oysters in the late afternoon when we dropped in unfortunately.
