Such a cute cafe with a huge garden in the back. Had the greatest time photographing the flowers all over the place. Coffee was good and strong. The scallop pie was tasty with light pastry.

Food might be ok but when they won’t serve you even a coffee 1/2 an hour before the scheduled closing time (machine already off) I couldn’t be bothered hanging around to find out.

Such a cute cafe! Highly recommended. Lovely staff, prompt, friendly & polite service. So many extra things to look at and buy. Gorgeous outdoor eating area and cosy indoor area next to the giant fireplace. (being Queenslanders, we needed warmth so sat by the fire). We went for lunch. Arrived just on midday and we were eating our food within 10 minutes. I had the chicken & asparagus quiche. Giant chunks of chicken and really tasty. Pastry was good (good pastry is important in a bakery right?). My colleague had a steak & pepper pie which (he said) tasted amazing and had huge chunks of tender beef. I also couldn’t resist trying the salted caramel eclair which did not disappoint. Great coffees too. I wish I lived here so I could come back and try everything.

Late Sunday lunch after visiting the Evandale markets. We chose the Ploughmans lunch and were not disappointed.A very generous board filled mainly with a variety of meats and cheeses. The freshly baked sourdough light rye bread accompanying was magnificent.Washed down with a couple of glasses of Tasmanian wine in front of the big open fire it was hard to leave.

Coffee OK. sweet slice mediocre. But courtyard absolutely spectacular. I wish I’d skipped the gift shop – have now seen same stuff elsewhere with less mark-up.

Dropped by on a cold rainy winter afternoon, it’s great to have a cracking fireplace to warm ourselves up. The decor of the place emulated an old English feel, cosy and homely. We ordered a Long black and latte, which coffee had a slight burnt edge to it. But the scones however are amazing served with fresh cream and raspberry jam. The combination of cream and jam on the warm scones seems to melt in my mouth. It’s a great stopover for a quick bite in Evansdale.
