Firstly, service – unfriendly, flustered, cranky kitchen woman berating counter staff. Complaining out loud so customers could hear her. Secondly, food – disgusting. Reheated, steamed roast pork in a floury gravy on a yucky roll. Ambience – nice timber fittings but table was dirty when we sat down. Dim and hot inside. We were not the only patrons who were unhappy with food and the cranky woman. We often drive down that way but we will not be back. $4.50 for a small bottle of Apple juice was excessive.
Vegie pastie for $5. Small serving too expensive, over rated, and flavourless. Mostly pastry with very little filling. The limited filling was predominantly tasteless potato with the odd chunk of carrot. Pastry was stale not fresh.
Unfortunate lunch in a town with few choices. Dirty cafe with poor atmosphere, rude staff, poor food and coffee. Wood themed decor could be good if it wasn’t done in such a tasteless manner.
Visited on a recent trip down the Huon, decided to try their scallop pies as I’d had a lovely one up the road in Franklin. Disappointing. Scallop pies were not very nice. Lady at the counter, also not nice.
