An absolute pleasure to eat here. Everything was so fresh and flavoursome. Big serves and well presented. The seafood chowder was silky smooth base with a lot of seafood and small chunks of potatoes and carrots. You could taste the white wine which was subtle and lovely. My other diners were extremely pleased with their meals – chicken baguette with Brie and salad, blue eye fish cakes with salad, smoked salmon and cheddar quiche made with phyllo pastry for lightness. The chef was a lovely young lady as was our waitress. Would highly recommend. Wines here of course are exceptional
Located just inside the winery. You would have the opportunity to enjoy the wine with the food. We ordered their chicken caesar salad with pipers Brooke estate red and white. The red is much more enjoyable with a very balanced and flavorful palate.Food did take a while to come out and service is just so so. We asked to be seated outside and was told they were all booked. After a family left the entire outdoor space was literally empty. Hm.. what is going on ?Btw. Also tried the macaroon which is all right but tried better ones in Sydney. Bottom line : Good food. Average Service. Average value for the quality.
For anyone who’s been following me, you’d know by now that I like pies: chunky chunky beef pies. After sine brilliant wines and seeing pie on the menu – along with a tasting platter – it’d be silly not too!Pie was ok: chunky beef yes but way too saucy. Not sure if locally made either. The treating plate was epic!!! Fresh salmon, tasty cured meats and epic cheeses!!Coffee was good. The chocolate brownie ok. Wines amazing!!Staff were super friendly too which always goes a long way. Bit quiet to rate on atmosphere and ambience as we were the only two people there – until a bus of people turned up as we left.Great place. A definite must stop for their wines!
Went here a few days ago and had a lovely coffee and orange cake. A lovely spot close to Jansz winery as well, so double the fun! A pretty protected courtyard and a lovely ambience.
