Criterion Street cafe has been around for a long time and nothing surprises you here. A good spot to stop and get some breakfast or lunch and coffee if youre in the city of Hobart.

3.5 . Found this little gem randomly as Im walking around Hobart centre. The ambience of the place is pretty chilled and the menu looked pretty good! The halloumi salad definitely grabbed my eye. Did you know there are over 2000 varieties of and halloumi is one of my favourite. The salad is full of sweetness from the caramelised onion and currants, hints of lemon with the rice. Crunch of the almonds and pumpkin seeds. Sometimes simple things with good flavour just works. Highlights: Very generous portions and the food came out very quickly. And when was the last time you saw this much halloumi on a plate! Lowlights: coffee isnt as good as I expected or is that the Melbournian in me? The service is friendly but not as attentive as what I am used to.
