Dined at Hogs Hobart for what must be a fourth or fifth occasion in a year and a half and really disappointed by the steaks, which were closer to rare than the requested medium (see photos). One steak was also roughly 20 per cent smaller than the other, although we both ordered hickory traditionals. The crispy mushroom and avacado salad – which they forgot to bring out and I had to request – they obviously threw together in a hurry. It was smaller than usual and the crumbed mushrooms had been overcooked and were hard rather than crispy. The toasted marshmallow cola floats were great – but kinda impossible to screw up. Usually a great place to eat – and we’re Hogs members – but very disappointing this time around. Hope it’s a better experience next time around or we might consider getting our steaks elsewhere in future.
Such a gorgeous building on the outside- travesty what they’ve done inside! Food is cheap with large serving sizes but my experience here made me wish I’d been less of a cheapskate with my meal.
Had the Pork Belly Pasta for our first meal in Tasmania and it was so delicious! We decided to go here mainly because of the distance from our hotel, familiarity and parking availability. Great food! preciouss2photo.com
The consistency of our steaks being very good here is great. We visit especially to have steak and it is always cooked well and tastes great.
Average stake, they source their beef interstate and not form locals which I was shocked because of the quality of produce Tassie has anyways for the price about $35 for stake chips n salad ….not worth it , atomsphere is great and service is good , only wld return if it’s for a friends birthday or something, if you want a good Tassie stake try the ball and chain 🙂

Big Disappointment. Very disappointing. Food was substandard. Service was at best amateurish and poor. Had to wait too long for food Signature meat dishes were what I consider trough food.
