Friendly staff. Love the decor of the place. Beef tartare was delicious, the caviar on those tempura oysters, very nice touch. And the spicy saffron and tomato stew for the chargrilled seafood was my favourite for the night. Pleasant experience overall.
Very nice dining room, dark and moody, good for a date night. We had a sirloin steak, cafe de Paris butter, mash and the chargrilled seafood dish with a tomato stew. Steak was good, well cooked, great butter, mash very smooth. Seafood dish, underwhelming and overpriced but their specialty is steak cooked on an Asado grill so wouldnt recommend ordering anything but that. Wine list very hefty with some great wine but also high prices. Not the place to go for a cheap date night. Would have rated this place 4 if we werent overcharged $13 for the steak, $65 instead of $52. Bit of a difference. They missed out on a tip due to that and it tarnished the experience somewhat.
Excellent position, walls dressed with amazing John Glover artwork originals from the Farrell family private collection, atmosphere quiet and velvety.Service brisk and sharp, entrees were amazing from sashimi (pictured) through to fresh King prawns and amazing local oysters.Mains; we all ordered steaks with much promise from the port barrel flamed grill, unfortunately they appeared to be cooked in a rationale and then placed on the grill for effect.I had the sirloin with lobster, nice cut, tender, well cooked just not what I was expecting RE flavours.Desert was nice and well accompanied with port.At $225 per head on a table of four not cheap. Not bad, could improve, would give another go!
