Maldini is a family run Italian restaurant in the heart of Salamanca. The restaurant comes to life with its authentic Italian vibes. An extensive menu offers an array of dishes including those with fresh Tasmanian produce such as the beetroot cured salmon entree and the Gorgonzola gnocchi which is house made. We also enjoyed the lamb ragu. All dishes are extremely generous in size. Our waiter Brittany was beyond gorgeous and very charismatic and helpful. The drinks list is vast and we were very happy (and impressed) to trust our waiter to match our food with wine. Make sure you leave room for dessert as they are huge in portion (when we were told wed need a straw for our bread and butter sauce they werent lying). The vegan chocolate tart is rich and decadent and worth every bite. A visit to Maldini will not disappoint
Went twice in one week.Different staff. Different wine. Different meals. Don’t question.Just go. THanKYOu to Clayton for taking care of us. You are an absolute star! Semolina gnocchi with scallops ….I’m speechless. The chefs are outdoing themselves!Outstanding!Food was exceptional! The potato gnocchi was a taste sensation; tiramisu divine & light. Tyson is a great sport. Great bloke. Dipa, our waitress, was just lovely. Three weeks in and a delight. Owner Dante was proof that keeping staff morale relaxed and happy, amid a vibrantly busy restaurant, makes for a wonderful vibe for everyone. The place was bustling & everyone was helping each other and Dante was always checking that his staff were ok & it was a joy to watch. All the staff were fantastic. Efficient, attentive, happy. My absolute all time favourite restaurant experience. But…I live in Perth.
If I could rate this higher I would. It was a fortunate accident that we ate here on this might, we had been turned away from somewhere else as they had no room. Came here and got sat straight away. My partner is Italian so any Italian restaurants we go to he normally orders the same thing – the bolognese. ( he reckons if a place can’t do decent bolognese then he won’t come back and try the rest)He rated it 8/10 which is the highest he’s ever given anywhere. I asked what would make it a 10/10 his answer was only that if his mum or Nonna had made it for him. I had the seafood risotto which was beautiful. The whole dish had so much flavour but the individual seafood kept it’s own flavour too. If I could make something like that it would be an honour.
Great service and really welcoming and friendly staff. The food is also nice and has great flavour. A nice Italian restaurant in the heart of Hobart. Worth a visit.
Great service and staff excellent, even on a busy night. The calamari was ok , but the prawn linguini was too buttery. Probably the best bit, were the olives to start.
In Hobart for 1 night and then heading south Stopped here as it was the closest place open and it was rainingGreat coffee and the best scrambled eggs on toast. Will definitely come again next time we’re in Hobart
Had a quick breakfast there, it was fantastic. Great food, friendly service and meals came out within seconds. I would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning.
