The food was bland and overpriced, the staff were rude and the atmosphere was meh. We have so many great coffee shops in Hobart, I don’t know how one as lackluster as this is still in business – other than the fact that it’s so close to the retail section of Cat and Fiddle.
No no no!. After a previous bad experience here, my family and I decided to give it one more shot due to it being one of the few places open on easter weekend. Well, it lived up to my expectations. After 4 out of the 5 of us had received meals (don’t get me started on the terrible breakfast), I inquired about where the 5th one was. Upon asking the simple question to the staff, they gave me blank expressions and a grumpy response. I ended up asking for my money back (the rest of my family has already eaten all they could stomach of the dry, bland food). Now, I’m a reasonable guy, I understand that people make mistakes but I was made to feel like a nuisance for asking about where my food was. If you are considering this place to eat a nice relaxed brunch, RECONSIDER!!
Disappointing service. My husband and I came in for just a quick coffee. After a long wait, we were eventually presented with two very large beverages. I later noticed that the coffees actually came in three sizes and we had automatically been given the biggest – and most expensive. I found it a little dishonest that we were not at least asked if we wanted ‘large’. I mentioned this to the waitress, but she was unresponsive.Yes, I should have read the prices on the blackboard, and it was only a matter of a couple of dollars, but a little more customer respect, and honesty, would have gone a long way.
Coffee was below average, cold and bubbly milk. Customer service was tepid and I also noticed whilst sitting near the kitchen that food was waiting for at least five minutes before being taken to its tables.
Corn fritters were dry, tasteless, came with pancetta that was burnt and oily. The French toast came with cream from a can. Overall very underwhelming!
On-the-go. Great range of savoury pastries..and a wide variety of healthy smoothies…
Diana. Huge delicious muffins here, nice clean modern shop
