This review is for the new GLENORCHY cafe. Id seen the menu on line and was excited to see another decent brunch place in the Northern burbs. When we walked in we sat at s booth and grabbed the paper. After a while and with no one approaching us i went up and got the menu myself. Staff were milling around the kitchen. After a good 10-15 mins we went to the counter and they said that we had to order there. A bit of a heads up wouldve been nice. We ordered a chicken Caesar salad, the chicken Sanga and a bowl of wedges. My hubby said that the Caesar was beautiful and the wedges were fine. My sanga came out with herbed chicken pieces, topped with a large amount of fresh coleslaw and fries. The taste was lovely. My only complaint apart from the initial service was that my chicken was initially warm but then some of the pieces at the bottom were cold. I have an issue with reheated chicken and I automatically recoil. The flavor was lovely but attention to all pieces of the chickenWouldve been appreciated. Stopped eating when I came across a piece of check that had a hard bit in it. Eek! I may go back and try it again because Im really hopeful that they get their act together and succeed

The chicken schnitzel was so burnt it started to disintegrate, and yet I am sure the thigh fillet, yep a thigh fillet schnitzel, was raw in the middle. Another meal at our table was meant to be pulled pork with a corn fritter came out as some pork moosh a has brown and fries. The vegetarian dish, forget the description, it was rice with a single piece of pumpkin. The 1 star rating is achieved by the positive score I give the coffee. Despite the unnecessarily large size as the standard, to be fair it was a decent flat white. The size was small but the actual was large like an UK flat white yet unlike the UK it had coffee in it and was not all milk.
