When the temperature feels like it’s below zero in Hobart, you can no longer feel your nose or face, and your partner snubs holding hands in favour of the warmth of her jacket pockets (hahaha) anything that is warm will do. So, a Hudsons Coffee for my fiance to lift her internal thermostat (it worked a treat) and a short walk from the Hobart Central mall and we found Sakura. As my fiance is partial to a hardy soup when it’s cold, she settled on the BBQ Pork Noodle Soup and I went for the Singapore Noodles coz I cannot recall the last time I ate this dish. Dull old me.As the photos show, both dishes were fresh and well cooked, presented beautifully, veggies crispy and not overdone. And while I have eaten Singapore Noodles at many restaurants over the years none had the quantity of seafood and veggies that Sakura’s had – it was seriously packed! Very generous indeed.Similar ambience and price range to comparable Asian restaurants in Melbourne like CY Sushi & Noodles or Menya (about $23 for two) on Elizabeth Street, it almost felt like we were dining at an Asian restaurant near home.
