I came for lunch with my friends when we pass by hobart. This is what i get when i order medium cooked steak, totally overcooked. But the flavour and portion is ok. Not worth the price.

This is a really good spot if you feel like a pub meal. The restaurant was really busy on a Sunday night – unless you come early, you should probably book a table. We had a rump steak and vegetables and our meat was cooked perfectly. The food is really good value and the portion sizes are very generous.

Atmosphere was great, staff were friendly and the room was nice and big with a cosy fireplace. Had a pepperoni pizza which was delicious and the beers were decently priced

Honestly amazing food with amazing staff! Drinks are NOT over priced at all try going to places in Hobart around Salamanca and the you try saying that the drinks here are over priced, oh and if you think that are don’t have a go at the bar staff they don’t make the prices. It’s also pretty much mandatory to book a table in the restaurant or you won’t get one and if you don’t get one don’t yell at the staff tell them you’ve come all the way from Melbourne to eat at the shamrock because there’s phones in Melbourne and it’s not their fault you didn’t book. Also if your not happy with your food don’t tell at the staff they didn’t cook it politely ask them if something can be done and they’d be happy to help. Few things I notice by rude customer that I thought I bring to your attention to avoid. But all in all amazing food and amazing staff!

Pretty good value with most mains around $12. Had the beef Parma which was ok, a little bit chewy but good value for $12. Pub looks basic from the outside but is clean and family friendly on the inside with good variety of meals.

To be honest we approached this pub with our expectations not set too high but we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were helpful and happy to answer our questions and also very smiley and friendly. This is great value for money. A huge variety of food at affordable prices and not bad tasting either! A $12 Parma which was standard size, served with chips and salad – cheesy, flavorsome and satisfying. I’ve had much worse for a lot more $$$ We also got the scotch fillet for $24, also served with chips and salad and sauce, best pepper sauce in town and a generous serve. The food came out really quick as well which was nice considering how hungry we were. A good local pub with hearty food and character! Definitely can’t go past this little gem.

Delicious and so cheap! Jumping on a Saturday night, we were lucky to nab a table in the bar. Food came quickly and was hot and yum. $12 for steak and $10 for a schnitzel. Both with salad, chips and sauce. Outrageously cheap. Locals and tourists alike packed it out. Old school pub feel and vibe, with sport on the TVs, no gentrification.
