Booked by friends for a birthday dinner celebration, was impressed that T42 had a table to seat all 16 guests comfotably tpgather – a single table! Atmosphere was great, though I needed to use my phone flashlight to read the menu without straining – the dark coloured paper in dim lighting probably hadn’t occurred to those printing them.Anyway, took some pics of a number of the meals. I had the Chicken Schnitzel, served with mash, green beans, asparagus and a lovely mustard jus. Large piece of chicken slightly overcooked, as the edges were very crispy and the crumbed coating a little dark (as pictured). Chicken was leaning towards a tad dry. Veggies were crispy and cooked well. At $27 probably better quality and price at a good hotel for the same meal, or a parma. Nevertheless, it wasn’t unpleasant. My fiancee chose the Local mussels, white fish, prawn, chorizo, orecchiette, sugo. Seafood was well cooked – probably overcooked – and the pasta was soft and soggy – miles beyond el dente. The tomato based sauce was fairly bland. Only a few mussels, a handful of prawns, some other seafood I couldn’t decipher, and some chewy chorizo (tough as) made for a shocker I could annihilate in the kitchen myself without a doubt. $30 for this average dish, highly priced at $30 being mainly pasta, made this for a regrettable dish.We also chose the Salt n Pepper Squid, Thick Cut Chips and aioli. While not the best I’ve had, this was quite good. Chips were hot, crispy outside and soft within, and thensquid was tasty. Not too shabby.Friends had the steak, crispy chicken salad and burger, among other dishes, which they said were tasty.Comprehensive drinks menu was quite pricy. A sleezy staff member was checking out and making moves on one of our pretty (married) female friends, which was awkward and unappreciated. First time I’ve experienced that in any of the restaurants Ive dined at.Overall, seem to have some good dishes, a pleasant restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining that I imagine would rock on a nice Spring or Summer day.A 2.5 for me… but can only give a 2 or 3 using my phone … and a 2 would be inaccurate.
Nice location with beautiful views of the water and yatches. The service was good but the drinks were average. We had a hot chocolate and a long black both of which were lukewarm. My friend had a raspberry tart which I tasted and it didn’t seem fresh.
