Great fine dine spot with a nice range of drinks, good food and excellent views. Great for a date night. The service we had was absolutely top notch and made us feel very special and important. Kept us informed of everything the whole night and accommodated all of our requests with a smile. Entrees were the winner here.
After a visit to the Frogmore Creek Winery during the day and wetting our lips with the various drops – my partner and I were convinced that we had to stop in for a glass or two at The Lounge once we got back to Hobart City Centre from our winery tour. The Lounge is in the perfect spot right on the dock waterfront with a beautiful view! We had already dined and walked around the area but had missed just how close The Lounge was – as we hadn’t seen it previously – so I was very glad to know that it wasn’t too far away from where we were staying if we wanted to head on over for drinks before we flew home!Although we came with the intention of drinking a glass or two of the Riesling (which we loved upon tasting), we bought ended up having a Mulled Cider (with Spiced Rum) each and lounged near the bar. I loved the live music too – as it added an extra touch of class but also gave it a relaxed vibe to what could easily be an overly stuffy environment. Staff were friendly and attentive – offering up Hobart tips for travels too. Would come back for food on our next visit!

I walked past The Lounge one evening and liked the look of it so decided to go there one evening with my wife. The restaurant is very chic and trendy, the tables for two, unlike other places, are very sizeable and comfortable, as are the chairs. The view of the waterfront is unobstructed and quite magnificent. The staff are very professional and courteous, as well as quite knowledgeable of the food. Every dish we had was absolutely spectacular and we loved it so much we went back for a second night and had the same great experience. Highly recommend the Frogmore Cigar dessert. It’s a masterpiece and very Heston Blumenthal-like.
