I’d eaten here previously but decided to have a quick lunch with girlfriends. I ordered the salt and pepper squid which I couldn’t eat. The salad was mushy and the salt & pepper coating off the squid instead of on it. It was partially cooked in parts which makes me feel ill. The Ninth Island Rose was lovely. The Maitre de was defensive and rude. Two out of three of us sent our squid back. His comment was that, ‘well I’ve served 20 others today with no issue’. He charged us for it. Mmmm won’t be back..short sighted and rude.
Booked early on a Wednesday @ 5:30 pm, place was empty. Parking was easy. We were seated immediately and the from then on the service was impeccable!Cuisine was modern Australian Asian with a refreshed take. Excellent presentation and flavours were fantastic!We enjoyed 6 small plates to share between three which was more than enough!All in all a great experience which exceeded all expectations!Well done to the crew, we will be back!
Have been here a few times now. First for Yum Cha. Very impressed with the decor. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Food is some of the Best eaten in Hobart. Add it to your list to visit.
Really quite happy with The Westend Pumphouse. We arrived from interstate on an early morning flight, headed into Hobart for a bite to eat. Dining a few places not yet open we headed in here. Lovely place inside with open fireplace. Waiter was extremely helpful and had some of the best customer service I’ve seen. They were happy to open the kitchen a few minutes early to cook up a delicious breakfast for us. They were more than happy to accommodate dietary requirements as well. All four of us walked out with a smile on our faces after a delicious meal in a lovely restaurant and having reviewed such great service. If we lived locally we would return again!!
Had dinner there last night and it was disappointing. Food took a long time to arrive and it was tasteless and boring. Sorry, but we really regret having dinner there.
Food was good but was a pity as would have been better if served warmer.
Had dinner while on a trip to hobart. Impressed with the food. Highlight were the octopus and wagyu rump. Would like to go back for a couple drinks at the nice looking bar as well
