The Kermandie Hotel is in a beautiful setting with lovely gardens and views of the marina. We came here for lunch on the recommendation of a couple of locals. Our roast of the day meals were delicious and pretty good value.
I’ve been trying all the restaurants through the huon valley for a week and was left wondering where all this local produce gets too, as none of it has goto the restaurants around here. Then came Sass. A beautiful atmosphere with sweeping views of the river. The food was fresh and most it very local. By far the best in the area for dinner. From the ciabatta, prawns, olives,local porterhouse, goats cheese betroot tartin and a brilliant apple and rhubarb crumble, we’ll worth the visit.

Sass Restaurant is starting a new winter menu with lovely corned Bruny Island Wallaby on a white bean and cauliflower puree with broccollini and a wonderful tomato and star anise chutney.Also on the game front is the house made Wallaby Pastrami .The braised lamb shanks on a creamy paris mash are just the thing to get the heart warmed on these cold winter days.
Great place, wonderful view. Was taken by friends who live in the Huon Valley here for dinner at Sass… wonderful meal and atmosphere. I think the staff could use a little more training on meals on the menu. I can imagine that it will be pretty amazing over summer with the waterside view.
