This place is versatile.I have come here to work on my laptop and it was quiet and I was uninterrupted. Had a good martini here.I would not come here at night because might run into some one I don’t want to see. But you are welcome to, I just can’t speak to the nighttime experience at Alchemy because I haven’t been there at night time before.
Alchemy Bar is a beauty on George St. The warmth hits you as you walk in – not just because of the heating location! The staff are super friendly, accommodating and willing to please. My partner and I both had steaks – Scotch Fillet & Porterhouse. Great value at $30 each including sides. Perfectly cooked streaks to our order. Drinks – amazing. The bar makes a mean Old Fashioned. Great wine pairing with your order. Live music on Friday night. Thanks – we hope to visit again soon!
Came for dinner and this is one of the busier places on the main strip. They have a outdoor area as well as a original interior. I love the comic book wallpaper and the other paintings inside. The place is spacious but dark inside. Food came out quick but the waitress forget to give me my tax invoice. A table beside be said they had to do the beer 3 times because it was too much froth on top. The taste,the wallaby meat tastes like a lighter version of lamb but not much taste. My salmon was ok but my partner liked it more than I did. Prices a little high for what you get but I still give it extra points for ambience
Cajun squid and bruschetta were great starters. The squid was tender, buttery and seasoned just right. The bruschetta was fresh with in house balsamic and pesto. Ordered an Angus scotch fillet medium rare, very well sealed with the right amount of salt and pepper, cooked just right with an even medium rare though out. Will come here again!
Very good. The ribs were a sticky wonderful meal that was very enjoyable. Good quantity and quality. Chips and salad were also nice. Wife had chocolate desert that was delectable. Service couldn’t fault.
2 out of 3 ain’t bad.. Thoroughly enjoyed the S&P squid. Best I have eaten in quite some time. Followed that up with a $10 steak, 250gm medium rare porterhouse with peppercorn sauce. Delicious. The waffle with coffee ice cream was just good compared to the rest. Although good, didn’t reach the lofty standards of the first two courses.
Excellent bar and restaurant.. Friendly staff and the steaks are to die for. :-). Just the ticket! :-).
