I actually preferred this to Stillwater, which is run by the same team. Theres nothing like a good bistro, and Black Cow lived up to that. I would recommend sharing one of the large Porterhouse steaks and a few of the sides if you arent absolutely starving – this was the perfect amount of food for us. The steak was so juicy and tender, and the carrots in Harissa yoghurt were also a highlight. Simple, small interior fits the mood well.
Probably the best meal I have had in a long time. The wine list is extensive. We restricted our wines to Tasmania and were not disappointed. The food was all great with the steaks cooked to perfection. The sides are recommended particularly the broccoli. Dessert finished with the lemon meringue being the best. Well done to the chief and owners.
Ambiance: mellow and sophisticatedService: attentiveFood and drinks: best cooked steaks Ive had! Cooked wonderfully and sauces were unique. Wines were fragrant and locally sourced.
We just had the most amazing meal at Black Cow Bistro. The steaks are to die for, the wine list superb and every dish was better than the next. The service was impeccable, warm and accommodating. Our family of 5 thoroughly enjoyed the experience and rate it one of the best meals weve ever had. Thank you!
Even dont know how to review this. It left me with a bad impression. The sauce was disgusting especially the peppercorn one. It was the most bitter steak sauce I have ever had. Plus, it taked 40 mins to get our dishes. In conclusion, I went to a steak bistro which I found somethingelse delicious except from the steak.
Service was great. Entrees are a bit small, baby carrots were very salty and the teriyaki sauce was very overpowering. Had a medium rare ribeye on the bone that was extremely chewy. Would have rather it not cut up to retain the heat. Highlights were the bearnaise sauce and the potato galette.
excellent for all! food, wine, service…book seat in advance is must because its really really favourite due to Its good taste. good memery in Launceston.
