This place doesn’t seem to get much attention being inside the Sebel Hotel but it should because my food experience here was excellent. Both breakfast was good (bacon/eggs, and apple & cinnamon porridge). Tea was served with genuine tea leaves rather than tea-bags. Dinner started with naan-bread with a trio of dips. The naan was very warm and just the right amount of crispy. Entre of mushroom Laksa was a brave choice for an Australian themed restaurant but was nonetheless excellent. The necessity of this dish on the menu can be questioned as many Asian eateries offer Laksa at a much lower cost serving bigger portions. The lamb shoulder was the highlight. It was done extremely well with a distinctive and gentle crisp on the outside, and soft and tender on the inside, while having just the right of flavor. The vegetable accompaniments were excellent as well.

We were staying at the Sebel and having arrived at 6pm dining in seemed the best option.Booked for 8 which left time to relax in our suite before dinner. The place was busy with a vet large group of obnoxious locals dominating the room. Fortunately we were shown to a quiet corner.Menu was interesting. We shared a pork belly starter. I then had lamb shank, my husband the scotch steak. Both meals were sublime…. My shank just fell apart and melted in my mouth. The steak too declared perfectly cooked, tender and tasty. Timing and service we very good, efficient and friendly.Blessedly Tasmanian wines on the menu!!! We tried the Ninth Island Pinot Gris/ the Storm Bay Pinot Noir and the Bream Creek late picked Schonburger with dessert. ALL declared delicious and well matched to our meals.Once the noisy table left the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere.Breakfast was included in our room tariff – served in the restaurant- one hot meal a la carte and buffet for fruits/ cereals etcVery good value for money. It’s definitely worth being an Accor club member as the discounts are significant.
