I’ve come here every so often when I’ve spent time in Launie. I think the food is quite good, not the best Italian but it tastes better than the neighboring Italian shop. When I’ve dined in, the service has always been quite slow which is a downer. But aside from that I like them 🙂
Checked this one out for dinner. I ordered the mexicana pizza which was very nice but pretty greasy, my friend ordered the Hawaiian pizza with added prawns, her pizza looked great except half the prawns weren’t prepared correctly the poo shute was left in. Pretty disgusting from a chef who should know better. Service over all wasn’t great kept waiting for the bill & to pay the bill I had to go find someone & the lady didn’t seem impressed. I’ve been to much better Italian restaurants.
Great food and hospitality, fast service, nice atmosphere. Seamlessly catered for a large group with very short notice, they went above and beyond. Well worth a visit.
on the other hand this is lovely, worth a visit – make a booking on the weekend as it’s very busy and although old fashioned in it’s dcor the food is great, service is friendly and price excellent.
i was in Launceston recently for my sisters wedding and took my fiance and brother out for dinner here. WOW is the 1st word that comes to mind. i first ordered the garlic pizza for the entree and was so surprised that i nearly ordered another 1. both me and my fiance ordered pasta entree size and we still couldn’t finish them but i had a break and destroyed both as you don’t leave food that good on a plate ever 🙂 my little brother didn’t get the memo and ordered the seafood pasta as a main and i had to eat some of that too. the place has a very nice atmosphere and light music playing which i love. i will return to tasmania and go back just for the garlic pizza. it had cheese, garlic and just the right amount of olive oil on a beatiful base. just made my trip from Melbourne even better. you have to go there for yourself
Authentic and Delicious. We followed our noses to this little place in George Street and it did not disappoint! We had the veal special which was listed on the board and it was reasonably priced and delicious. The chef was able to suggest a local wine which complemented the meal to perfection. Would return if we go to Launceston again! Loved it.
A Little Disappointing. I haven’t dined here for years and sadly I have to say I won’t bother again. I was with a party of about 15, the service left a little to be desired and was really quite unprofessional. The food, while substantial and tasty was horribly over priced for what you got. The presentation lacked something and the wine list was limited. Worst of all, the other patrons had left and our table was the only remaining customers. At around 8:30pm the staff had turned off all the lights except for our section and shouted at a would-be customer that they were closed then began hovering around us. Shortly before 9pm our waitress asked us to settle the bill so they could close up. How are they supposed to make money when they turn away paying customers early on a Friday night?
