This has to be one of the worst examples oft tapas food in Australia. The place is dark and dingy. The saving grace was our waitress. She was a lovely ypung lady who tried her best in difficult circumstances to stay posotive. Prawns were tough as old boots and inedible. They were sent back uneaten as were other tables similar prawn dishes. We weren’t charged for tgem but anyone worth their salt wouldn’t have plated them up. The meatbalks were soggy but tasty, i thibk they may have been frozen. The omlete was definitely re heated, you could tell from the blacked edges. All in all a very ordinary dining experience. The obvious owner seemed oblivious to the garbage being served up. One to be avoided!
Dont tell pork pies. So we went to Toro’s this evening with some friends after a little bit of research and having been told by locals that it was one of the better restaurants in Launceston. Before I order any seafood I ask if it is local seafood or imported rubbish. The young waitress assured me the scallops were Tasmanian and made a bit of a song and dance about the fact of why would we live on an island like Tasmania and serve foreign produce, I agreed. However when my first tapas dish arrived it was as clear as dogs balls the scallops were foreign crap. Second tapas dish was pork kababs with a very generic and boring dipping sauce. Main was a lamb fillet cooked how I asked M/R served with a baked egg dish including egg shell the veg some sort of swill all plopped on a plate garnished with wilted spinach all for $80 what a bargin, not!! If this is fine food in Tasmania you can keep it.
