Had a delicious meal at Kawasemi. It was the first time I had been and I was very impressed with everything we ordered. The staff were very attentive and friendly. I will definitely go back. It is the best Japanese in Hobart.
Didn’t really do it for us. Went expecting good things after hearing rave reviews from friends. Sushi was pretty middle of the road, tempura was oily and undercooked, broths were very ho-hum… Not awful, but pretty average, wouldn’t go again with the plethora of good food joins opening up in Hobart these days.
Not happy. Seriously?? how are people raving about this.. expensive as hell! $8.50 for a sushi roll when I could go to any Japanese place and get one for less than half that! ($3.50) and they are some pretty damn nice Japanese places that do sushi for cheap around here. Disgusted.

Damn…this place is GOOD.. I’m jealous of the people in this area as they can go to this cute shop any time they want.
Everything about this restaurant should have been good, but it was so disappointing. Phenomenally slow service, very mediocre food and they forgot our order so we watched every other table eat their meal while we waited. I was still prepared to like the place but when the food finally arrived it tasted sad and old.
