Just, wow. Melt in your mouth meat. Did not know a beef burrito could be that good. Plus beans and rice I struggled to finish it. Friend had the half rack of ribs a day only regrets not getting the full rack. Will definitely be back here. Amazing value.

If you haven’t been to Texas, then by all means comment on the quality of the food in front of you, but please spare us your opinion on how authentic the food is here. Tex Mex is a cuisine all its own, combining Spanishflavours, Mexican ingredients and a long tradition of slow roasted, smoked andmarinated meats. It doesn’t get any better than this small, busy and completely wonderful Tex Mex restaurant in the suburban boondocks of Hobart. Get your BBQ jollies off the superb pork ribs, great sauces and marinades and cornbread to die for. Outstanding flavour, generous portions and service as friendly as a State Fair in Omaha. Add real Margaritas made with quality tequila and fresh lime juice for a brilliant night out. Who would have thought you’d find this in a tiny restaurant in Moonah, but there it is and the town is making its way there. Best tip? Go at lunchtime, when you don’t have to book a table days in advance and still get the great tastes at very reasonable prices. Five stars, get in quick before it gets too cool. We hear a Sandy Bay extension is coming soon.

Texas Pantry never disappoints, for either lunch or dinner. After several visits I always promise to try something different on the menu when I next visit however I can never seem to pass up on a Reuben sandwich despite my promise. My husband always struggles to pass on the ribs each visit as well! This is not to say the other dishes are not as good (we have sampled the philly cheese steak sandwich, the meat platter, pulled pork and pulled beef burgers and a few other specials) but once you find a favourite its hard to move on. Lunch and dinner are serviced by great staff who know the menu and work fast due to the high demand. A plus to eating in for dinner is partaking in their cocktail range which are authentically American with anice dose of flavour and a heavy kick of alcohol.

Fantastic service and fantastic food. This is as American as it can get right here in Tasmania. The baby back ribs literally melts off the bone and please try the waffle fries, they’re addictive!

Wonderful night at the Texas Pantry, don’t have a bad word to say about it. Great food, great service, and cheap margaritas! Both my partner and I left feeling very full.

Being a Melbournian visiting Tassie after many years, I never thought I would find this gem. The staff to begin with were very welcoming and gave us a rundown of the different items available on the menu.In all honesty if you find a Texan inspired menu anywhere, you go for broke. I ordered the 600g pork rib with potato lattice, green salad, slaw and corn bread. Little did I know the treat I was in for.The servings here are big and quality is on the equal. The mouth watering marinades and seasoned flavours send your tastebuds into a frenzy of new experiences. The ribs just melt in your mouth and are cooked perfectly with the sweet and sourness of BBQ sauce. Potato Lattice? well seasoned, not greasy and still light and fluffy in the middle. Most of all though if it feels too much for your taste buds…try some corn bread for a grainy, yet sweet experience. This balances out a perfect plate with lots of flavours. The drinks menu also is quite extravagant so maybe set your mood for what you want before you come into this restaurant.A great vibe, friendly service, big servings, perfect for a birthday, event or when you feel like you can eat out a market place. Do try it.

Went with a friend for lunch, we each ordered a dish plus a basket of waffle fries to share. We received the meals first, I had beef tacos, they were full of flavour but ever so slightly on the dry side. We had to ask after the waffle fries but when we got them, they were great. Small but with a nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
