Booked in on the same day (that we intended to eat here) and thankfully we got a table. There were 4 adults and 3 children. The children, surprise, surprise ordered pizzas. The margarita was lovely with the base chewy, but crunchy and light. I ordered the fettuccini A’matriciata which was a tomato based chili and bacon sauce. It was lovely. My husband is a lasagne connoisseur, but he found the Amici version a little too salty (so it must’ve been, simply because he’ll eat anything). The other dishes were the veal and the trevalla both of which my dinner friends spoke highly of. The dessert was gelato, creme brle and the warm chocolate brownie. At $15 per dish for dessert, they were a little on the high side but the portions were good for sharing. The service was great and it really was the stand out. There’s something about being greeted by an older male waiter who makes me feel as if I’m stepping in to a quality establishment. He was knowledgeable, quick and attentive. There were the younger ones around but this guy made us feelComfortable and well looked after. My friend and I ordered a bottle of the 2013 Tassie Pinot Noir and it didn’t disappoint. The dining room was bustling with people and those picking up their takeaways, but we never felt as if we were being disturbed. We’ll be going back. Finally a local joint that I’m scoring higher than a 3!

Dropped by this great little Italian place for dinner and we weren’t disappointed. Nice decor, good service and some tasty food. No wonder it rates well. We had nice arancini, a great pasta and scallop dish and a lovely veal and prawn dish and a good bottle of Italian red. Ticks all the boxes and not expensive either and big servings too! sirandmladydineout.com

Cold pizza. Ordered a takeaway, I picked it up at time they quoted, had obv been sitting out of the oven for ten minutes and was luke warm at best by the time I got home, five minutes away.

Doesn’t stack up against Hobart’s many great Italian alternatives. I’m afraid I can’t recommend this one. While the service was fantastic, the food was only mediocre. An old-fashioned, cream & cheese style cooking without flare. We chose the garlic & CHEESE bread, the carbonara pasta and the avocado & prawn gnocchi. The cream in the mains overpowered any other flavour. Such a shame as the gnocchi is actually house-made.The drinks menu is quite limited, sticking to the middle of the road. A fair wine selection but no craft beers and not a single cider on the menu. There are so many truly wonderful Italian choices in Hobart, this one needs to step up.

Poor last minute choice.. Looking for somewhere to grab a meal while venturing through North Hobart, Amici caught our attention.Overpriced, flavourless food and poor service from a rude waiter made our group consensus to look for somewhere else and abandon the majority of our main and desert….Will never return.
