Knowing that there was an hour delay crossing the bridge to get home tonight we used the opportunity to head up to North Hobart to find some dinner. Not having eaten Mexican in years we persuaded carb-aholic child that this evening he could legitimately eat corn chips for dinner (no nagging or side serving of guilt). It just so happened that they had their $22 three course special on. I had the chilli beef dip for entree and nachos supreme for main. The dip was nice, but no real kick with it. My main looked fresh but the salsa was so watery that the chips were left floating in it. I think the food is best described as cheap and cheerful. I wouldn’t rush back but judging by the people flocking in I’d say they were there for the margaritas and the prices. Mini me had the kids nachos served with salsa (and because it’s made from a veg/fruit obviously he wouldn’t touch it) and sour cream (which went quickly). Hubby had the beef, tomato and chili soup which was actually beautiful. His main was the New York fajitas which looked ok but he described as average. Dessert was berry cheesecake, chocolate ripple and khalua log and Turkish delight ice cream. Waitress was attentive and friendly. I’d probably go back if I wanted to get in and out quickly for nachos but not the place to enjoy a conversation with friends.

Have to agree that the best thing about this place is the service and the staff. Genuinely lovely and attentive people with a great sense of humour. Food wise, have to agree with some of the other reviews that the food was a bit average, and definitely a few dollars higher than what you’d expect to pay, but the drinks are extremely reasonably priced. That said, the atmosphere, the experience, it was the family friendly and cheerful environment we were after

Fantastic. Amazing value!!!Lovely staff and great food. For the prices I was expecting avarage food but it was really tasty, filling and real Mexican style food. The house wine at $15 a bottle was a steal. And the wait staff were the nicest I’ve experienced in a long time.
