The most traditional Japanese cuisine that can be found in Hobart. Serving speed and service are very good. The environment is very private and comfortable. I come with friends every week.

My favourite little place. We went to Miyabi in the middle of the week, to find the place booked out – we’re lucky we made a reservation! The food at Miyabi is classic Japanese – everything was exceptional, except for the Okonomiyaki – it was a bit bland and dough-ey. The Robot Ninja beer more than made up for this oversight. The atmosphere was great – if you’re looking to catch up with an old friend, or talk over dinner then this is the place for it. The small space, and conversation interspersed with deliveries of food was perfect. The restaurant sits in the second-story of the Renown Milk Bar building, overlooking Elizabeth Street. The service was good, in spite of the wait staff obviously being pushed. We found the best approach was to order off the single-items menu (order as many of the teriyaki as you please – they’re delicious) in a tapas-style. Most items on this menu are ~$7ea., with two to three each plenty for a good dinner. I will be going back to Miyabi time and time again after a great experience.
