Excellent service, delicious food. A great take on an old favourite, sweet and sour pork with mandarin. The seafood combination was generous and tasty, and the steamed prawn dumplings contained full size prawns.
I love this spot usually but it was a little lack lustre this week. I ordered the Singapore Noodles but they were lacking in flavour and content to be honest. There were prawns and sweet roast pork but the veg was very light on. For entree we shared the mini vegetarian spring rolls but mine were still cold in the middle. The waiter apologised and didn’t charge us for them, but given the usual quality we were really disappointed. My dinner date had the lamb pancakes which were beautifully done and presented. Usually they’re really quick with the meals for those of us heading in early for a State cinema movie but it was well over 30 mins for the two meals and we were the only ones there. Usually I stick with the Three Shot Chicken and maybe I’ll try that again next month, but otherwise underwhelmed and not impressed sigh!
Uninspired by flavours, this was my second time at Mu Lan. The chicken and corn soup was tasty as it should be, but the salt & pepper tofu and the chicken salad were not to my liking. Service was lovely. I wont be back, too many other choices in Hobart these days.
