A warm and inviting pub showcasing Tassie’s wonderful fresh produce. So many lovely dishes to choose from with great service and friendly staff.

Beautiful fresh food, tassie produce at its finest! Perfect atmosphere for a relaxed dinner!

Great service and good value. The topside bruny island wallaby was cooked to perfection and the seafood pasta was super fresh and tasty. Friendly local pub with great Tassie produce and a good selection of beers.

Good Place, great food!. We missed the evening entertainment, but we didn’t miss the treats in store by eating at Republic. After checking out a few local places near our accommodation on our first night in Hobart, we landed on Republic. Very cool place, but not pretentious (thank god) – really good menu and specials. On the drinks side of the experience – plenty of variety, plus a house Sangria – worth a try. It’s the food however that helps establish this place as a landmark in North Hobart. It’s also supporting live music in this country – doesn’t get much better! We can give a big tick to the Pork Belly and the Jack Daniels Steak (char grilled but rare -Yeah!) – both cooked beautifully with supporting delicious vegetables and flavours. This is a welcoming place, while not being in your face, but I suspect when the music happens, so does the place!

$10 burger. Delicious, juicy waygu burger with fries for $10? YES PLEASE! We’ll be back.

  • Jaybann

Pushed out of our table by a very rude man, no warning and we are never going back, so much for friendly service! lifting tables over our heads while we finished our coffee, crashing chairs into our guests legs, embarrassing republic very bad.

Go the specials. So impressed with the food here, obviously a chef who wants to play around and experiment with amazing Tassie produce. We ordered almost all from the specials board and weren’t disappointed. Really friendly staff. Would definitely go back!
