Enjoyable evening drinking good Tasmanian wines accompanied with a few sensational dishes to share.Not overly pricey for the quality although the service, even on a quiet night, was a little indifferent.
Don’t know how to treat sparkling wine. We called in here for the first time when we were waiting for a movie to start at The State. We decided on a glass of Delamere Sparkling. (Sparkling wine is our favourite style) The wine was poured from about 50mm above the glass, which was left standing on the bar. This is the wrong way to pour sparkling wine, as it destroys the bubbles. The wine should be poured in the same manner as beer, gently down the side of the glass so that the bubbles stay in the wine. It is really disappointing that an establishment that professes to know about wine does this.
