PIES ARE THE WINNERS – the initial entry to the bakery has a greasy takeaway feel to it, however there are seating further in the building filled with marilyn monroe & errol flynn (Tasmanian) memorabilia (perhaps this could be a draw card for some travelers). Who knew Errol was in so many movies!Hubby got beef & bacon pie freshly baked from oven & i gotta admit it was darn good pie! I had chicken burger (equivalent to one from a greasy take away shop).The service was hectic & amiss but it was a good rest stop to refuel.
Had the curried scallop pie with chips and salad, and were happy. From memory the price was $14 or $15, which I thought was reasonable considering it was a good sized serve. They also offer creamy scallop pies which we’re yet to try. Also have a range of typical bakery items. It’s decorated with movie memorabilia which gives the place an enjoyable ambience. A good place to stop for lunch if you’re driving between Hobart and Launceston.
