The setting is charming, the decor delightful, the food most disappointing! Had coffee and cake on Saturday last so chanced lunch on Friday! The lovely young man who served us struggled with menu items for the charcuterie plate … When it came it was missing key parts of our order and included things we had specifically said we did not want. Another waiter attempted to fix it without much success. The food remained largely uneaten as it really was not nice … The rabbit rillettes were not very tasty, neither was the fromage de tete … The rabbit terrine was dry and completely lacking flavour. My chum did enjoy the black pudding but the texture was all wrong for my tastebuds. All vegge accompaniments were too bitter … Such a shame as a contrast of crisp fresh ingredients (tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, figs) might have made all the difference! And the bread was too thick!
From out of town and we stumbled across this brilliant cafe. It’s set in an 1836 refurbed old church (looks amazing) with a picturesque garden and veggie patch (where the kitchen uses what it grows). Enjoyed a wonderful breakfast outside soaking in the warming Tassie sun….highly recommend this place
