Stopped by for a quick lunch with my wife and had the curry scallop pie, chicken and camenbert pie and salmon and caper quiche. All were delicious and service was great too.
Any time I am in the south of Tassie, I come to this bakery. The reason I do is because they make the best Chicken and Camembert pies in Tassie. I am yet to find a place outside of Tasmania that makes them and anytime I am there, I make a point of trying to find them. The pies here are amazing and whilst pricey, are perfect for a quick bite to eat as you hit the Gaol and the picture perfect bridge. Across the court yard there is a great cellar which has tastings of the best whiskey in Tassie. What more could you ask for?!If you’re in town, definitely drop in!
Not a great experience!! Definitely overpriced. We were told that the scallop pies are great at this place. But unfortunately, it was not good at all. Highly not recommended.
Tourist trap selling overpriced and average pies and pastries, not many choices in Richmond so might be the best of a bad lot.Steak Pie $5.20 was very hot but sloppy and fell apart. – bad combination
Called in here for a much needed coffee after a busy day. I ordered my soy cappuccino and my guest a long black. The long black was served with milk on the side but they’d filled the cup so full of hot water that we had to empty some into the saucer. My cappuccino was a little odd and I wonder why coffee isn’t strong enough *sigh*. My partner had the chicken and Camembert pie which I just had to sample and the chicken was breast meat was cooked perfectly and the sauce truly was filled with Camembert! Quite a surprising pie and even though the coffee was average. The coffee gets 1.5 and the pie and firm 3.5-4 so they score just on a 3.
Sufficient for a quick bite, though queue was long – I had a salmon quiche ($5.90), it was tasty. Kids had mince pie ($5.20). Not much ambience inside, outside is better.Coffee was not drinkable, however the kids were satisfied.
Came here for the scallop pie. Was not disappointed. The scallops tasted fresh and the pie crust was flakey. With the amount of scallops they put into each pie, it was worth the $7 price tag too.
