We went to Poseidon for a take away dinner of fish and chips. We were keen to eat some local Tasmanian seafood. We ordered the flake and scallops. Each piece of flake was $8.00 and it was very small. In three bites, it was all finished. The scallops were also tiny and slightly slimy. The chips were also very ordinary. For a meal of take away fish and chips, I think $40 was a little bit unreasonable considering the average quality of the food. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Unimpressed and will not ever go there again.

We were impressed with the reviews and intrigued with the Korean seafood fusion so we visited it tonight. Whilst the service was courteous, unfortunately we were very very disappointed with the quality of the food. The abalone congee was bland and lacked flavour. The abalone pieces were so tough my wife had to spit out her piece. The A$30 Korean Seafood Basket — see photo — was a smashed up piece of ling the size of my thumb! How can this be worth $30?? And the prawns were mushy, not firm when u bite into them. A sure sign that they are not that fresh. This is an embarrassment to Tasmanian seafood, folks. We knew we were talking to rank amateurs in the kitchen when we mentioned the rubber hard abalone to the manager and he said that the abalone in congee should be served hard around the edges and tender in the middle. Please go and learn how to cook abalone properly before u serve it. Please.Avoid at all costs.

Abalone congee was delicious, I added soy sauce for extra savoury-ness. Wish there was more! My partner’s grilled scallops were a touch dry – they would probably do best pan fried in butter instead. So many other items I wish I had capacity to eat (I want to go back for the Korean fried chicken and seafood chowder)…
