This busy takeaway/cafe seems to be the most popular spot in Strahan – with locals and tourists. The prices are reasonable and the portions are sizeable. Note that if you want to dine in, you need to order before 6:30 pm. We had a takeaway scotch fillet steak, chips and salad for $22. The food was cooked properly but without seasoning – luckily we had our own salt and pepper which made it palatable. The service was good even though the staff were incredibly busy.

This is a proper country takeaway. Friendly service, tomato and BBQ sauce in the tables, and the footy game on in the background, loud enough to listen, quiet enough to ignore. Big and tasty burgers. Proper tea in a proper pot.
