Food was good however the portion was too small for it to be considered one portion. Worth it for the view but dont expect to be satisfied by the food…

Had dinner here with my family, ordered the fish & chips, oysters, a pizza and a seafood chowder. The fish batter was oozing with oil, and the fish was rubbery and tasteless. Oysters tasted extremely fishy, wasnt to my liking. The pizza was mediocre and overpriced in my opinion. Seafood chowder was alright. Service and ambience was alright.
Ordered a spaghetti bolognese and meat lover pizza.Pasta tasted horrible looks like they used frozen bought in product from next door supermarket.Pizza overpriced with using ketchup sauce as pizza base sauce(owner doesnt know the difference between Napoli and tomato sauce?)Was such a letdown for my day. Very disappointed.
Great location and staff. Nice simple food the chips are great. We had the mushroom bruschetta which came with olive bread and was a nice salty addition to the dish. Great place to sit and have an iron house brew, a local Tasmanian beer.
Had the ribs which were almost inedible (left most of them). Tasted like they were chucked in the microwave and then added BBQ sauce too. Would never eat here again even though there is almost no choice in this town. Having said this, the view is spectacular and would go for a drink here any day of the week.
So we got here at 8:45pm, kitchen had already closed but there was still 4 tables which had not paid. We were tired and weary and just wanted to buy some water. We were told to go away by the owner (she is a lady who looked like the owner), who actually came out to shoo us off and lock the door. She told us the closest place was 144km away in Hobart. (Which I find hard to believe). I’m not sure whether she was so rude to us because we were Asian or she just had a bad day. There was absolutely no need for this attitude. I hope the old lady reads this and thinks twice before she does this to other tourists. She does no favors for tourism an area which is otherwise stunningly beautiful.
Food was ok..though the thing that really got to me was having to pay 60 cents for a little bowl of tomato sauce that comes straight out of the bottle. If I’m sitting down at an a la carte restaurant having a burger and chips I expect the sauce to be free. Not told that there is an extra charge for a dash of sauce when I get the bill. If you really need to cover the cost of a $2 bottle of tomato sauce add it to the overall burger cost!
Breakfast was delicious (eggs overcooked) and generous serving. However, they mixed up an order and brought out eggs and bacon for both of us, ordered eggs & bacon and eggs & salmon. Waitress insisted that we ordered the same, no apologies about the mix up. The attitude of a waitress was very unfriendly when I asked for water. A licensed restaurant should have filtered water if the tap water is unsafe. Forcing customers to buy bottled water – something I experienced in posh restaurants, not a roadside cafe. Coffee could be stronger. The unfriendliness of the waitress ruined the overall pleasant experience of delicious food and the view.
