We had lunch here and enjoyed the atmosphere. Great location, very professional and friendly service, extensive selection of Tassie wines and ciders. Modern take on the 3 veg and protein meal, didn’t like the way they cooked my vegies however.
We had a lovely lunch sitting by the fire and watching the peacocks wandering around outside. My mushroom & leek pastry was lovely. Full of flavor. And my dessert was a very sophisticated kind of chocolate ripple cake with meringue and was one of the nicest desserts I have ever tasted. Lovely environment with good service.
Lunch. Skipped breakfast to have a nice lunch at the Gorge. WOW when the food came out I was so disappointed about the serving size. I know it said light lunch however that was more of a tasting plate then a lunch! Fortunately the salmon linguine was beautiful but I have left hungry and not impressed with amount of money i had to pay for such a poor portion. Not worth the $$$
The restaurant almost blew me away more than the scenery, the service and food was amazing! Definitely did not expect it, the food tasted so delicious, you could tell there was a chef preparing the meals with care. I will definitely go back here again while staying in Launceston. Highlight of my week. Was worth every cent! My husband said, I think they hug and kiss the vegetables before they serve them…
Delicious Dinner. I dinned here last Saturday night with a party of 8. We had a table outside and were able to enjoy the warm evening. Our waiter was terrific. He was efficient and courteous. The menu is bistro style food with portions being quite generous. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meals. They have a very good wine list with many local wines. I’d dine there again.
Lunch at the Gorge. We went here for lunch a couple of weeks ago when we were visiting Launceston. Fantastic ambiance. Flowers, peacocks, well set out tables. You could sit indoors or outdoors. We ordered the leek-mushroom parcels, fresh salad, vegetarian pie, and dessert. All the food tasted great. Slightly pricey but worth it. Friendly, efficient staff. This is a must if you are in the area.
Food was ok but not outstanding, certainly not value for money.
