First of all, its worth going and having a drink at Rosevears because of the breathtaking panoramic view of the valley that awaits you. Service is friendly and efficient. The food isnt necessarily bad but very overpriced for the somewhat average dishes you get. Much nicer dining options along the Tamar Valley.
Ordered scallops for lunch & a glass of white wine. Scallops were crumbed and quite small underneath. Local wine was adequate – friendly server allegedly couldn’t help me with choice (understandably) as she was underage. . Accompanying salad was reasonably fresh. Busy due to location right next to Tamar River. Looked at quality of food served to other diners too – nothing looked particularly inspiring. Need to look at a new chef if they plan to highlight Tasmanian produce – not stodgy, bland, fried food that even the best ingredients can’t rescue.
