Great tour! Impressive production line and diverse beer range. Bruna was so knowledgeable and we were well looked after. Highly recommend a visit!
Great tour thru the brewery! Nice place to stop for a bite to eat and try the beers and ciders, especially on a nice sunny day. Cajun chicken is great!:)
The Carlton Brewhouse is on CUB’s (Carlton & United Breweries) historic brewery site in Abbotsford, Victoria. The Brewhouse represents Australia’s largest brewery and they produce many Australias favourite beers such as Carlton Draught, Victoria Bitter, Pure Blonde and Carlton Dry.
The bar / cafe has spacious table and many seats mainly used to have a venue or group lunch. The ambience was nice, it wasn’t too loud and you could enjoy the view of historic brewery while waiting for your food. They also offer the beer tasting experience and tours for $15.00 (30 mins).
The customer staff was friendly but they were disorganised when looking after big group. The restaurant has outdoor and indoor spots; The outdoor spot was really good, relaxing and perfect to have beers.Though we’ve done the preorder and made a booking in advanced, the food was relatively slow delivered.
We ordered :
* Chicken Parma – House made schnitzel, napoli sauce, ham, mozzarella with Chips and side brewhouse salad for $20.00
The taste of schnitzel was average and the schnitzel was slightly overcooked and dry.
* Carlton Draught Pulled Pork Burger – Slow cooked beer braised pork, bbq sauce, spiced apple sauce, crisp and creamy coleslaw for $18.00.
The pulled pork was actually not bad, well cooked and soft.Unfortunately, the bun was little dry, tasteless and slightly tough for the burger.
The chicken parma has more appealing presentation compared to the pulled pork burger. Both dishes were slightly overprice and relatively small compared to the other pubs / restaurants in surrounding areas. The chips served on the side was still hot and not too much seasoning which made good, but it wasn’t crispy and slightly disappointed.
Overall, the food was pretty average, overprice; but the venue was pretty nice for a big group of people.

Yay : Spacious place and the outdoor spot was great, perfect place for beer lover (plenty options)
Nay : Slightly overprice, the schnitzel was overcooked and dry, the bun of the burger wasn’t good.

This place is tacked onto the brewery and was part of a tour. The food was rather lackluster and I’d compare it to low end pub grub. Enjoyed matching the chocolate brownies with the dark beer. Wouldn’t come back to eat. Ever.
Arranged the Carlton Brewhouse for a group of 10 for a bucks party. We chose the beer and food matching tour, for $45 this tour was great value for money and a good way to start the day. Not only did we get to tour an amazing brewery site we also received a tasting paddle and 3 food choices. Would definitely recommend the tour for a boys afternoon out with the beer and food matching!
A great way to spend a few hours even if you’re not a beer lover. Learn all about the beer making process and at the end you get to choose your own paddle of beer and cider tasters fresh on tap. Meals aren’t amazing but will the spot.
Everybody knows that flowers are romantic, but roses are so clich and predictable arent they? For too long flowers such as hops and barley (the backbone of beer) have been overlooked when the subject of romance has been raised. Its these couple of flowers that you will become quite intimate with on the Carlton Brewhouse Brewery Tour, as you smell, touch and taste your way though this delicious adventure.
Located at the Carlton and United Brewery in Abbotsford you and that special beer lover in your life will be treated to a complete tour of how beer is made from plant to pint, all narrated by a knowledgeable and energetic tour guide. The highlight of it all is arriving back at the Brewhouse for a hard-earned and truly unique tasting unpasteurised Carlton Draught. Any fresher and you would be dunking your head in one of the vats of beer.
After that its time to make some tough choices as you fill your tasting paddle with beers and cider from the Carlton United stable. If you arent sure what to choose there is one of Carltons master brewers on hand for a recommendation and a chat. Once youve made your choices, grab some wedges and lap up the sun on the outside deck. So cheers to the true romantic flowers of hops and barley, because whats a rose really done for anyone anyway?
