Pizza based were spectacular but was thoroughly disappointed at the prosciutto and beef slices which werent fresh.
Could have been one of the best pizzas in Melbourne if not for that.
The service couldnt be faulted though. It was excellent. Would go back to give it another shot and hopefully this time, my opinion changes for the better!
I’ve wanted to try this pizza place on Victoria Street for some time as I’ve always found this to be a really odd place for a pizza shop. I say that because almost every other shop on this strip is Asian.
But not wanting to cook on a Sunday night we decided to try this place.
But it had a 2% surcharge for EFTPOS!! Wt?? We ordered 2 t/a pizzas and when I arrived to pay the waitress told me that there was a 2% surcharge!! She did is that ok?? For EFTPOS? Noooo it’s not ok. But the t/a pizzas are in front of me so what do I say? That wasn’t mentioned to me on the phone, because if it was I wouldn’t have ordered there.
This was bloody annoying! They are making money for jam and I’m not a happy camper tonight.
This place was empty but it’s Sunday night and it’s generally not too busy anyway so that didn’t worry me.
As for the pizzas we had a sopressa and a buffala pizza. The buffala pizza didn’t come w kalamata olives so we ordered some anyway. They tasted really good but they had pips in them!! What??
The pizzas were plain, the tomato base tasted watery and the ingredient light on, but overall I am disappointed by the whole experience to be honest.
There is far too much local competition to go back here.
For this weekend, 2 out of 3 ain’t bad haha … maybe I should just stick to brunch!
Amazing pizza the pizza just melts into your mouth couldn’t stop myself eating very fast service nothing went wrong friendly people / staff
Come back again
This review would only be understood by elounge original regulars- (ie 2007 to about 2015) This place no longer has its winning touch
Every Saturday night this place was once thriving as soon as the doors were open , now barely a soul in there .
Pizzas might seem okay to first timers , but the original regulars will know it’s just not the same . It saddens me to say because I once rated Elounge highly up there with one the best pizzas in Melbourne but it is no longer the case
Fantastic thin crust pizzas with top ingredients, nice wine, free wifi, super attentive service, good lighting, and cheap! A hidden Italian gem in the heart of Victoria street.
Sopresso pizza was decent taste wise, but was just barely warm on delivery, even had some cold spots. Really don’t understand why you would use unpitted olives though…just about shattered my tooth and ended up picking them all off and eating them separately. Also, the base couldn’t be any thinner. Very mediocre all around.
I have to be honest: given the latest comments on this restaurant, I didn’t have good expectations about the place. I still gave it a try and I’m glad I did!
The place is well decorated, you even get to see your pizzas being prepared 😉
Our antispasto tasted great, it only lacked a lil bit more of cheese to be perfect. I had the Pizza Bianca con Speck and it was just fabulous 😀 I get hungry only for remembering that dish ^^ Boyfriend’s Pizza was the Sopressa and it was really hot.. Really really hot! And good as well. So, for spicy food lovers, meet your hottest pizza! For dessert we had a pudding like a petit gateau with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, good as well. The wine was really good pick as well.
Staff were really friendly, kind and attentive, nothing to complain!
I recommend this place to all pizza lovers.
