Ive been here about 5 times and it never disappoints. I never go without ordering the fried fish w/ tamarind sauce. I cant explain how good it is, youve just gotta try it. The oysters are amazing if you can handle your spice. The duck curry isnt as good as I hope but the green Thai curry is good. Pad Thai is average. You must get a booking otherwise youll be waiting 30 mins min – every single night. Except Wednesdays as thats their least busiest day
All I can say is yum! I cannot say hoe great the food is here. We had a few different curries, a fish dish and I think my forever favourite is the Penang Curry.
It’s a BYO wine venue which sweetens the deal but don’t for get that you only have the table for 2 hours. Bookings are advised!

Disappointed I didnt get the great experience other reviews raved about. Ambience felt authentic. Tap water tasted rusty. Tom Yum soup was too sweet. Rice was really hard. Servings were small & not value for money. What I enjoyed was the pandan crepe cake & ice cream, it was really delicious.
Jinda is probably the most popular Thai restaurant. It is always crowded, so reservation is definitely required. All the dishes were overall good. However, the stand-out dishes were the fried barramundi with nam jim sauce, the soft shell crab in curry, and definitely the mille crepes! The mille crepes were gone for a while, but they came back. The layers of mille crepes and the generous sauce, with perfect amount of sweetness definitely unforgettable. The other dishes were all really good, too. The only downside was that their portions were quite small, so you might have to order more, but it is definitely a must-visit restaurant in Melbourne!
Jinda Thai is probably the most legitimate and delicious Thai restaurant Ive been to in Melbourne, which is rare as most Thai restaurants here are either contemporary/fusion or cheaply westernised.
The green curry chicken here is on point with its soupy texture, strong kaffir taste, and its use of Thai eggplants – my only criticism was that it wasnt chilli enough. The Thai fried rice is very traditional and the basil stir fry chicken mince is incredible. You almost cant go wrong with any dish here.
The service is decent; they are always very busy here for dinner so the waiters/waitresses are constantly under the pump. The atmosphere is great as the warehouse converted space gives off a spacious and warm vibe. Id highly recommend trying this place – especially if youre Thai or have eaten food in Thailand: youll know what I mean.
This place is always packed with people. It maybe one of the most popular thai places in Melbourne so booking is a must especially if you have a party of 4 people or more. Well, the taste of their food says it all. They all taste great especially their whole fish dishes. The only thing is that most of their food are towards the sweet taste, so if you dont like sweet food or prefer savoury better, you may not like it. We also like their thai tea crepe cake dessert and always order them whenever we are there.
Came here for their lunch menu and received poor attitude from the wait staff.
The coconut rice was divine and there was nothing to fault from the massaman. But I’ll prefer to be a patron at the friendlier Ying Thai in Carlton than to deal with the egos at Jinda.
