**3.5 stars** This Korean restaurant which has been doing pretty well for itself the past year in Richmond has just reopened next door. Revamped with more space and a much cooler interior design/structure, customers will be left feeling more comfortable than previously before. Seats are set further apart on the long blue-tiled communal table that curves in the middle. The pink neon light that curves with the table adds a nice feel to the ambience, not to mention the numerous plants that decorate the room. There are also some more tables and booths on the sides of the room. Food wise, its ordinary Korean cuisine. Theres nothing that sets it apart for other Korean restaurants… I also found the original boneless fried chicken to be dry and plain. Although it was served with some radish, it definitely needed sauce or something. Service is okay. Staff are friendly. Id come back here if Im craving Korean cuisine and Im in the area. The menu does offer more variety in comparison to other restaurants nearby.
Definitely not as good as their location in Northcote (for some reason), but still good. The spicy, fried rice cakes are perfect in texture and flavour. Hot tip- get some steam buns, fill them with sizzling tofu, then dip them in the rice cake glaze.
As for the tofu itself, it’s very thick and fried, not grilled, which was slightly disappointing. Even more so was the japchae. It featured flat noodles as opposed to the traditional thin style, and the sauce/veggies didn’t have great flavour. I’d opt for a bibimbap or dosirak instead
