Really excellent pizzas, got these for the first time tonight and were really happy with them
Crispy base, fresh toppings and piping hot.
Perfect.
Really great. Loving it since the new management. Tasty pizza and pasta with very friendly staff. Would have been higher rating but the gnocchi servings have been stingy at best on the last two orders. Keep up the good work but fill the take away containers!
Now that its under new management the pizza and service are great, would recommend this to all my family and friends. Keep up the good work 🙂
Went in tonight and found out it was under new management and met the new fantastic owners and tried there pizzas for the first time
It was amazing !!!
Definitely coming back for more
As usual on a cold hungry evening I browse local pizzerias to test them out. Not far from the Pizza Box is another good place called Fat Tomato that seems to be under new management. No, they don’t serve Italian pizza but the one I ordered with hot salami and chilli was pretty good. Although I’m a hardcore Italian pizza lover the pizza from Fat Tomato defends itself all the way. Heaps of ingredients that are of decent quality and heaps of cheese that melts pretty well that got a bit toasted on the surface but remained nicely chewy all over. The dough is not bad. It’s not a typical thick American bun base and not Italian either. It’s something in between with approx. 5mm base and similar crust. The crust could have grown a bit better but it was edible and not dry and hard as it often happens. The location in Altona is in a dark side street and it has roughly 2 or 3 small tables with chairs. A typical suburbian take-away pizzeria. Prices are reasonable and I paid 15$ for a large one.I really enjoyed it and I must point out that I’m very critical when it refers to a pizza. Good quality take-away pizza that you can enjoy with the family straight from the box while watching footy on TV.
I orderd my meal, looked lovely to start with. The gnocchi was nice but the Greek pizza I ordered with tzatzki, I opened the tzatzki much to my surprise there was mold, green mold. Quite disappointed and think it’s disgusting
I have to be honest and say the quality has gone down hill since it has changed hands. I used to exclusively buy pizza and pasta from here but not anymore. While the menu is much the same, the quality of ingredients and perhaps the way it is made is not the same and not up to scratch in comparison. But of a shame really.
